Opening day for Lady Panther soccer didn’t go quite as planned. The game started with some missed opportunities and shaky play on defense. The Panthers conceded a goal with about 18 minutes remaining in the first half. The 2nd half started about as bad as it could have for the Panthers. Greensburg took the kickoff right down and scored 14 seconds into half number 2. With about 20 minutes remaining the skies opened and the game was delayed for about an hour while lighting passed. It was during this delay that everything changed. The girls regrouped and made some adjustments. When play resumed it was all Panthers. The ball was on their half of the field the entire 19 minutes. Finally Jasmine Happe scored a goal to open up the scoring. With about 6 minutes remaining Brachelle Wisner scored her first career goal on a free kick from about 25 yards out. The Panthers had a few chances late to steal the game but nothing found the back of the net. The game ended in a 2-2 draw. The Panthers play at home tonight against a really good Triton Central team.
