On Tuesday, Jan 8, the Knightstown Panther wrestlers finished their team dual season with a home dual at the Hoosier Gym against rival Eastern Hancock. The first win of the night came from 182lbs with sophomore Liam Orcutt and was followed quickly by another pin from 195lb junior Aiden Orcutt. Continuing the trend 285lb sophomore Sam Thomas, 113lb senior David Peck, 120lb junior Jared Richardson, 126lb sophomore Logan Jordan, 132lb junior Justin Lane, and 138lb junior Nick Walsh all picked up wins for the team. To finish the evening, 160lb sophomore Ben Newby won by fall to bring the final score to 52-21.
Knightstown Head Wrestling Coach Robbie Hadley thought the team performed very well. “Our wrestlers had an outstanding day,” Hadley said. “Our wrestlers were showing their best work of the season. As we move into the tournament series, we like to see our guys reaching their potential.”
The team has a small break before they head to Centerville High School for the Tri Eastern Conference tournament on January 19th with wrestling starting at 9am.
