The Lady Panthers split a DH with Winchester Saturday, winning the first game, which counted towards the Conference standings 10-1, and lost the 2nd game 14-9. Sidney Vise pitched a 3 hitter the first game, and the offense exploded with 17 hits. Paige Personett had 4 hits, including 2 Triples, and Vise and Jess Butler both had 3 hits. In the 2nd game the Panthers stayed hot on offense, collecting 15 more hits, but several errors on the defensive side allowed Winchester to get the win. Trinidie Newby took the loss on the mound, pitching her first complete Varsity game. Only 7 of the Falcon’s runs were earned. Leading the offense in the 2nd game was Personett again with 3 hits, with Vise, Newby and Emily Adams all adding 2 hits. The Lady Panthers are 11-9 entering the last week of the season, and have 7 games in 6 days vs some very stout competition, beginning with a trip to Tri High Monday, followed by four Class 3 and 4A teams, including Muncie Central, Indian Creek, Richmond, and New Castle, before facing Shenandoah in the County Tournament Saturday.
