Keelan Walters threw a gem on Monday for Knightstown Panthers, allowing zero runs in 5 innings of work besting Morristown Middle School by a score of 12-0
Dalton Scott led Knightstown Panthers to victory by driving in four runs. He went 3-for-3 at the plate. Scott drove in runs on a single in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the third.
Knightstown Panthers got things started in the first inning when Brayden McDaniel grounded out, scoring one run.
Knightstown Panthers scored five runs in the second inning. Knightstown Panthers’s big bats in the inning were led by singles by Jace Wilkerson and Michael Roberson, a sacrifice fly by McDaniel, and a double by Scott.
Walters earned the win for Knightstown Panthers. He surrendered zero runs on four hits over five innings, striking out nine and walking zero.
Grant took the loss for Morristown Middle School. He surrendered six runs on seven hits over one inning, striking out two and walking zero.
Knightstown Panthers racked up 16 hits on the day. Scott, Brock Loveall, Roberson, Wilkerson, and Mason Young each managed multiple hits for Knightstown Panthers. Loveall and Scott all had three hits to lead Knightstown Panthers. Knightstown Panthers stole seven bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Bryce Gorman led the way with two. Knightstown Panthers was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Wilkerson had the most chances in the field with seven.
