Knightstown High School vs Northeastern High School
9 3

The Knightstown Intermediate School tennis team traveled on Wednesday of this week to face Northeastern’s newly formed tennis team of 30+ players. I’m starting to sound like a broken record – but TENNIS IS A GREAT LIFELONG SPORT and other schools have figured that out! … That said, our 6 player team (-1) took on NE’s huge team and gots lots of playing time.

We mixed it up, with almost everyone getting to play singles and also getting to partner with different teammates in doubles.

Round 1 (2-1):
Peyton McDaniel took on an experienced opponent at singles falling 0-4. She stepped up to the challenge and managed to return many shots that were well beyond what she’s ever faced in her first season of playing, proving she will be a player to watch in upcoming years.
Brayden McDaniel & Hunter Steimel teamed up for 4-0 win showing they are as good at doubles as they are in their normal singles positions.
Becca Waggoner & Evie Berrier pulled out a very challenging match at doubles that ran into round 2 winning 4-3

Round 2 (1-1):
Brayden McDaniel stepped back into his normal singles position & won 4-0.
Hunter Steimel & Peyton McDaniel fell 1-4 in their first match together.

Round 3 (2-1):
Hunter Steimel stepped into the singles slot winning 4-0
Brayden McDaniel & Becca Waggoner followed with a 4-0 win
Peyton McDaniel & Evie Berrier had a very close match but fell 3-4

Round 4 (2-0):
Becca Waggoner held the singles position beating her opponent 4-0
Hunter Steimel & Brayden McDaniel teamed up once again for a 4-0 win

Round 5 (2-0):
Hunter Steimel & Evie Berrier won at doubles 4-1
Becca Waggoner & Peyton McDaniel finished up the match with a 4-0 win for the night.
