Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers stayed in it until the end, but North Decatur pulled away late in a 10-8 victory on Monday. The game was tied at eight with North Decatur batting in the top of the seventh when an error scored one run for North Decatur.

Despite the loss, Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers did collect 11 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, North Decatur had ten hits on the way to victory.

Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Keelan Walters singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Jace Wilkerson led things off on the mound for Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers. He allowed five hits and five runs over five innings, striking out three. Walters threw two innings in relief.

KIS Panthers racked up 11 hits in the game. Carson Smith, Wilkerson, Hunter Jackson, and Walters each had multiple hits for Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers. Smith went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers in hits. Knightstown Intermediate School Panthers stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Connor Pyle and Carson Smith led the way with two each.

Walters went 2-4, 3 RBI, Jackson went 2-3, 2 RBI, Mason Young and Owen Renie each had 1 RBI.
