Boys Varsity Tennis · Varsity Tennis Sweeps Southwestern Shelby

The Panthers returned home to the friendly confines at KHS Tuesday to sweep Southwestern Shelby 5-0.  The team roared out of the gates winning the first 15 games on court and never looked back.

#1 Doubles Sophomores Kyle Johnson and Connor Pyle one-upped Garrett Dalton in the ‘first off the court with a win’ sweepstakes, bringing the first Panther point with a shutout, winning 6-0, 6-0.  Garrett followed with an identical sweep of 6-0, 6-0 to put Knightstown up 2-0.  Cooper Davis dominated #2 Singles with a 6-0, 6-2 win to seal the win.

Brady Howell played very consistently at #3 Singles, winning 6-4, 7-5.  #2 Doubles completed the sweep behind improving net play from Connor Keith and Dylan Chandler, nothing a 6-0, 7-6 victory.

Aiden Richardson stepped aside to let the freshmen get more match experience.  Jace Wilkerson and Ethan Woods made the most of their opportunity, winning both JV matches with scores of 4-0 and 4-3 respectively.  The Panthers didn’t yield a single court en route to a 7-0 home sweep.
