Game Recap

The Lady Panthers were eager to get off the bus and play some Softball after a week off and a couple rainouts. They didn’t waste any time after a couple of walks, a triple by Robyn Clark and a single by Carmen Cleek put 3 runs on the board in the top of the 1st inning. Georgee Lawhorne took the mound for the first game in a couple weeks and started off hitting the first batter and giving up a single before retiring the next 3 batters and keep the Chargers from scoring. The bats were just getting warmed up for the Panthers as Kaitlyn Jackson drew a walk and was followed up with back to back singles by Vivian Goodpaster and Lawhorne and deep Home Run by Sammi Eaks, her 6th of the season. A couple more walks and a double by Cleek made it a 10-0 lead for the Panthers. Knightstown never looked back as they pounded out 19 hits on the night, led by 3 hits each by Cleek, Clark, Lawhorne, and Eaks, who also had 5 RBIs. Collecting 2 hits apiece were Goodpaster and Jess Butler, as they both had extra base hits and continued their hot hitting. Kiley Breece also had 2 hits on the ballgame. This was a great Team win and great to see a lot of batting practice finally give the results that these girls are capable of. The whole lineup had Quality at bats, and good mental approaches at the plate, and that’s rewarding to see as the season progresses. The Lady Panthers are now 10-4 on the season and travel to Lapel Thursday.
